Prof. Dr Jahanara Alauddin is the Secretary General of the ENT Foundation of Bangladesh.
Dr. Jahanara Alauddin completed her MBBS degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan in 1973 and received further medical training in the UK. She trained at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK working as a Junior and then Senior Medical Officer with a rotation at the Birmingham General and Children’s Hospital till 1978.
She obtained a Diploma in Anaesthesia from London in 1978 and then worked as an Anaesthetist in Newport Gwent Hospital, Wales for a further two years. Dr. Jahanara Alauddin joined the Dhaka Shishu (Children’s) Hospital in 1983 as a Consultant Anaesthetist. She later became a senior consultant and head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and has worked in the hospital for over twenty five years.
During her time at the hospital she provided training to post graduate students of various medical universities, the Armed Forces Medical University and BIRDEM.
Dr. Jahanara Alauddin has considerable medical and management experience earned during her long career as a senior figure in the field of paediatric anaesthesia in Bangladesh.
