The ENT out-patient department provides both routine and specialist clinic services. The in-patient department carries out routine ENT operations. A list and brief explanation of the procedures is as follows:

Operations carried out at the hospital

  • Adenoidectomy – Removal of the adenoids, the small lumps of tissue located at the
  • Tonsillectomy – Removal of the tonsils.
  • Septoplasty – Straightening of the partitioning of the nose in order to allow air to pass through either nostril more easily.
  • Tympanoplasty – A repair of a hole in the ear drum.
  • Mastoid surgeries – A repair of the bone behind the ear drum.
  • FESS (functional endoscopic sinus surgery) – An operation to relieve the symptoms of sinusitis which will involve either the removal of any abnormal growths or open up the drainage passages from the sinuses.
  • Thyroid Surgery – Removal of all or part of the thyroid gland.
  • Parotid Surgery – Removal of all or part of the parotid gland.
  • Head-Neck Cancer Surgery

Diagnostic Services

  • Pure Tone Audiometry – tests the hearing of both ears.
  • Tympanometry – this confirms whether the ear is blocked, most commonly by fluid.
  • Stapedial (Acoustic) Reflex Test – estimates hearing levels.
